Wills and Bequests You can leave a legacy for the needy that lasts far beyond your lifetime when you include the Mission in your estate planning. Without a will, your estate may be distributed by probate court without your input or desire. Your will allows you to make those important decisions to care for people you love and charities that share your values. Options range from giving a specific bequest, a percentage of your estate, and/or the remainder and residue of your estate. Consult your financial advisor, attorney or tax professional for details. You may contact CCRM's Director of Development for assistance...(518)462-0421.
Gift Annuity If your heart's desire is to invest in the Lord's work and at the same time you need to make the most of your current financial resources, then you may want to consider purchasing a gift annuity with Capital City Rescue Mission. With a gift annuity, you receive a lifetime income between 4.6% and 12% of the gift, depending on your age. You may also defer the payments until a future date; this usually provides greater annual income. You get a tax deduction the year the gift is made, plus tax-free return of principle. Part of your gift helps the Mission right now!
Life Insurance The gift of life insurance is a practical and affordable way to partner with the Mission. You need not be wealthy to make a substantial difference in assisting the homeless and needy. Typically, you apply for a permanent life insurance policy on your own life and name the Rescue Mission both owner and beneficiary of the policy. Since the Mission is the owner, your annual gift of the premium payment is tax-deductible. If you need to discontinue contributions, any accumulated policy values can still provide a generous gift. Consult your financial advisor, attorney or tax professional for details.
