Donna Drum serves hundreds of homeless and needy people in the South End by managing the Mission's clothing giveaway center, Blessingdale's. It is a labor of love that extends 40 hours a week. She says, "I love it. It gives me something meaningful to do and in helping others, I am blessed."
Donna helped design the operation of the new clothing center which was built in 2005. She oversees the functions of Blessingdale’s – sorting the donations, ticketing, sizing, displaying and distributing.
She has organized an efficient, dignified way to give away over 3,000 items of clothing a week to the less fortunate. Donna says, "People are appreciative and they respond so much when you give them a little love."
The Mission is so thankful and blessed to have volunteers like Donna. Her commitment to service inspires us all.
